Best Commandant Award 2009

Dear all,

Congratulation to our former commandant, Mr Johnny Ting for being awarded as Best Commandant Award Sarawak State once again this year!

For your information, Mr. Johnny Ting had been actively served Malaysian Red Crescent since year 2006. He is the 1st commandant of VAD-57 . Under his leadership, VAD-57 had obtained the Best VAD Award for 2 times, and obtained champion in First Aid Competition last year.

Throughout these years, he had involved and organised a lot of activities not only in VAD-57, but as well as Malaysian Red Crescent Miri Chapter, Sarawak State Headquarter, National Headquarter and even international red cross and red crescent events. That's why he deserve to get the award as Best Commandant Award Sarawak State for 2 times!

Due to his active participation, he is currently holding position as Assistant Officer-in-charge of VAD in Malaysian Red Crescent Miri Chapter, who is 1 of the youngest Chapter Committee. On behalf of my committee, I wish Mr. Johnny Ting best of luck and keep up the good work. Thank you very much!

Best VAD Award 2009

Dear all,

Mock Exercise 2009

The Mock Exercise went on smoothly, tho there was a strong wind and it rained. A great success indeed, thanks to all who participated, sacrificed their precious time especially involving in preparation before the real day, attending meetings, as well as showing up during the official day to show your support and of course not to forget staying back after the event for the clean-up session. MOCK EXERCISE

Do you know what should you do if you heard fire alarm keep ringing in campus or public places?

For you information, VAD -57 are organizing "Mock Exercise"in Curtin together with Curtin's security guard, fire department (Bomba) and police department. 

      Mock Exercise is one of the disaster preparedness designed to expose and test the adults and students on the following:- 

  1. Planning & organization skills
  2. Leadership role, delegation, and division of the relief works
  3. Management of crisis
  4. Optimum utilization of the resources
  5. Mobilization of the disaster response team and execute response plan
  6. Team work among the member

    The details of the event are as follow: 
            Date: 09 October 2009
            Time: 2.00 - 4.00 pm                        Benefit: Get to Learn + Certificate
